Princess Ann... nuff said

C&C Music Factory - Make You Sweat [Dance Now] (Princess Ann Reconstruction Tribal Mix)

Ok, so I said, "nuff said", but in reality I simply can't say enough about Ann and her reworks of classics. She has updated this C&C track with a bit of an electro edge and strong tribal beats and it is sweet audio candy.

Now Ann what I'd really like to hear your touch on, when it comes to C&C, is Rob's Boriqua Anthem. Angelo Kortez worked it out quite a while back but my Miss Cleo powers tell me that you can take it to whole new level. And yes, I'd gladly send you the original if you don't already have it.

I couldn't help noticing my cyber lovers over at ExModia beat me to the post on this one. Damn Hookers!

Here We Go AGAIN

D. Morales - Lick It 2009 (Original)

90's house seems to be making a big come back in terms of new remixes. This is progressive mix with a tribal bass line and some drum action. The vocals are sampled down and become some what repetitive but such was the case with original as well. It's a fun update. The older crowd will appreciate the nostalgia and the youngsters will think it's new.

Mamma I'm Depending on You to Tell Me the Truth

Rainbeau - Rolling Stoned

The last remix of this song that worked for me in a big fat soulful house way was done by ATFC. This progressive mix is great. Because this version is very simple, it can be worked over any number of tribal tracks for additional energy and drive. The best thing about it is the use of the original Temptations vocal track. I was disappointed that the entire vocal track wasn't used, at least not in this version, but the track is still a stand out.

I Don't Know Why...

Britney Spears - Circus (Ulises Gonzales & Allan Natal Base Mix)

I'm posting this. The only Shitney song that has ever appealed to me was "Slave" and frankly that had everything to with the producer and nothing to with her. None the less I like Natal and sad as it to say as a DJ you need to have some of the crap people ask to hear. At least Natal & Gonzales give us some drums and make the track tolerable.

I Get What I Want!

Lolleata Holloway - Crash Goes Love (DJ Morais Power Dub Private)

Another in a long line of remixes for this track. This is a high energy tribal dub done very well. It is the kinda track, this and others versions of the same song, that never fails to get a response from the floor. This one is for Rain cause I know how sista love the vocal sample.

Make Me Wet!

Re-Coded & CJ Andre - Scream My Name (Original Mix)

Dirty electro with a gritty grind! Your typical electro lyrics but the music is to die for.

Lets Dance Lets Shout

Jason Rooney - Shake Your Body [Down to the Ground] (Original)

This is the second iconic Michael Jackson sample that has made it onto my blog. Each time the drums break you get swirling synths then the drums slam back in. You can pull this track off in an electro or tribal set. Very fun track.

Higher Than Ever Before

Gioia - Your Love is Lifting Me Higher (Eddie Baez 2009 Remix)

I can honestly say I have liked all the mixes I have heard of this track. Mr. Baez gives you everything you have come to expect from him with this one. Huge Anthem Sounds.

All You Need Is

Deep Factory Ft. Larissa Vitorino - Love (Original Club)

Your standard circuit fair, with a darker edged vocal track. Has the flavor of Nissim in 2002.

From The Creator of The Dark Beat

Ralph Falcon & Charlie Solana Ft. Victoria Wilson-James - Control (Main)

The version I fist got of this was labeled (Original). The (Main) is the same and I have no idea which is the correct label. This track is all about the ugh ugh ugh intro and the rolling wawawawa at a minute 30 seconds. Hot Stuff! I am living for this track. There are about a zillion remixes but thus far this is my favorite for exactly the reasons I described above.

Waiting So Long

Skingz - Just For Your Love

House, Disco, Rhythm, blues, and Jazz with an emphasis on BOOM. A very simple track in terms of the 4 on the floor, yet wonderfully effective. Crazy sax edits, filtered organ and heavy beat drops.

* I found it difficult to download and had to let the whole file load, save as source, and add the .mp3

Welcome 2009

Tribalishious - Spanish Heat (Jacuk & Strak Tribal Heat Mix)

There is really only one way to start out the new year and that is with DRUMS! This link includes three mixes my favorite being the one listed above. Classic tribal drums...nuf said.
