The Moog Arp

Donna Summer - I Feel Love 2009 (Miguel Vargas Latinoamerican Drums)

If there were a Godfather of sound for dance music, it would be the colossally famous Moog Arp. It is a classic that has stood the test of time and that is seriously saying something in terms of dance music. This offering brought to us by Miguel Vargas also incorporates tribal drums. The production is a bit on the muddy side. I like my tribal a bit more crisp. None the less it's a solid track and when we are talking Summer, The Arp and Drums, we are talking good stuff!

A Departure Dedicated To Those Who Voted Yes on Prop 8

Lily Allen - Fuck You Very Much (Main Mix)

This is a departure for Floor Shaker but I simply couldn't resist. This is my personal Casey Kasem, Long Distance Dedication to each and every person who voted YES on Prop 8 in the great state of California. The track isn't quite a dance track but has some great potential. Do you hear me Princess Ann? The Carpenters piano sample along with the innocent voice of Lily lead you to believe you are about to hear another sappy love song. Trust, this no love song.

In DEEP

Saeed Younan - Sax Move

If you are a Floor Shaker follower it has, by now, become apparent that I have a thing for Drums, Horns and SAX. Mr. Younan delivers a deep oriented, versatile, instrumental track that can be laid down in almost any set. I can assure you this is entering my deep soulful house sets CODE RED.

Everybody's Doin' It

Rudenko - Everybody (Club Mix)

Big fat chunky beats, an eastern-ish background vocal, and strong electro edge all combine with a vocal edit very similar to Camille Jones - The Creeps to create a slamming 11:30PM track. When you drop this record you will get the audiences attention for sure.

Good Vibrations & Sweet Sensations

The Latin Players - Tribal Magnetico (The Raytech Remix)

Hold on to your coochie, cause The Raytech is letting you have it with this one baby. These drums will have your ovaries exploding and your fallopians tied in knots. Yes ma'am, I'm talk'n bout rock'n your disco pussy. Thundering Tribal!

A Special Treat For Laptop DJ's

Hardy Hard, Mr. X, Lady Waks - Records Back 2009 (Electrixx Mix)

An awesome house track that utilizes a great lampoon of J.T.'s Sexy Back and slams the lap top DJ's out there. Now I am all for progress and there is no arguing that, with a lap top you have the ability to take things to whole new level. That having been said, my personal opinion is that a DJ should know how to beat match. If you have ever heard Knuckles (among others) you know there there is nothing like a vinyl DJ. So to my buddy who is opening for the likes of G&D and Tiesto, you know who you are, "Can I check my email before you start your mix?"

Aside from the fact the track is HILARIOUS, it freak'n rocks too.

Let Me See Your Beauty

Misstress Barbara - Dance Me To the End of Love (Original Mix)

A very dark brooding electronic cover of the Leonard Cohen classic. The vocals are superb. The track can fit into many different set genres; deep, tech, add some drums and even tribal. This one is highly recommended.

By Request

Celeda - Free Your Mind 2009 (Airmale Club Mix)

It's difficult to go wrong with Celeda. This is a tribal and progressive update. Very late night and at 10 minutes, 12 seconds, great if your spinning and need a bathroom break. For DJ Yoshi.

Ohhhh Yessss Do It Again!

Clubzound - Horuga (Original Mix)

Combine the now iconic synths of nightlife Royalty Razor & Guido's "Do It Again" with another very familiar percussion sample, the original of which is escaping me at the moment, some simple tribal drums and presto...

That's What I'm Talking About

D-Unity - Tribalism Continues (D-Unity's Filthy Mix)

Wickedly dark, with punishing drums, and intoxicating with the chant of children, this track F'ing rocks! When I'm talking tribal "That's what I'm talking about".

Getting HARD

Tribalism - Drums On Fire (Original Mix)

The title really does say it all! Point Blank Hard Bang'n Tribal. Excuse me while a swoon!

Lets Go

Jose Spinning Cortez & Randy Fries - The Mission (Original Mix)

So this progressive track has many "Elements". I crack myself up! The one I like the best is the very Magic Orgasm synth sound two thirds of the way into the track. It really took me back. The lyrics/vocals are, ehh a bit goofy but the music is great. I'm glad the boys didn't use the word journey. Give me a break already with these DJ's talking about their sets being some sort of cathartic journey. Aside from that being the most over used expression of what a DJ is attempting to do, it is also simply not accurate.

A DJ is trying to get you on the dance floor and keep you there. A Dj wants you to throw your hands in the air. That is the Mission! Well and possibly get laid after. :)

Just Kick'n It

DJ Red - Kick The Groove (Original)

This song can be described in many ways. With it's dubbed vocal track and bouncy bass line it lends itself well to a funk oriented set. To me it's just straight up HOUSE with a progressive edge and I am way dig'n it. Reminds me of late nineties Fat Boy Slim. What I didn't like was the crap ass fade ending. Not sure if that is just this download or how the song really ends as it not set for release yet.
