Scott K. & Laithie Vs O8bama - Dreams of Unity
...I'm in love with Obama. It could be the simple fact that he is able to speak in complete sentences, the likes of which we have not heard in EIGHT, LONG, DARK, SCARY, YEARS. On a non-musical note (ha ha get it ...note) please please PLEASE register and vote this year. Even if it is for the evil empire, make your voice heard. It frightens me to think that we live in a society where more people vote for American Idol than the president. Register, vote and encourage every friend you have to do the same. After that, go see Beverly Hills Chihuahua, becasue... come on, seriously, how F'n cute are those dogs?
As far as the track goes, it's another great track in the long vein of M.L.K and preacher tracks. Scott used Plastic Dreams and well, it's really hard to go wrong with that. Mister K himself said to spread the song around "liberally".

Well, we are not in love with Obama. But we do understand that politics is the process of choosing between two evils (if you live in the U.S., in other countries they have many more evils to chose from).
Our main concern is that given that marriage equality has now been guaranteed in three states, neither candidate has come out in support of it and neither will...that's just cowardice on both of their parts.
So, for Gay people, politics becomes the process of choosing between two cowards.
If you sum up the totality of all that we have heard during this very long campaign, there is nothing to recommend either candidate as a viable choice for the LGBTQ community. Nothing. The only hard promises that have been made have been made to the business establishment.
And in truth, the business establishment has gotten immediate (in relative terms) action for their ailments. It took years before the Gay community got any action on things like HIV/AIDS.
This is the truth of America. People can die in the streets while their government looks the other way, but the relatively wealthy can't be allowed to suffer the consequences of their financial foibles.

I disagree, if any human considers themselves in anyway associated with LGBTQ and they have an opinion pro or con about Roe/Wade the there is reason to be pleased. There are many others too, many more than I care to mention here. Life is not perfect. There is much to be done. Change happens slowly.
Some might even say one person at a time, and one relationship at a time. I applaud your passion and vigor for such topics. Careful with venom, it poisons those who carry it more than any other.
No. That's a fallacy. And one that the establishment loves to throw around. That idea that change happens slowly. Even in evolutionary terms that has been proven to be wrong.
Change is revolutionary. It happens suddenly and it can happen with staggering numbers.
The notion of "slow change" is what the ruling class loves. It allows them to perpetuate their hold on power. In short, slow change threatens no one and short changes all of us.

You know I'm surprised you didn't have anything to say about Beverly Hills Chihuahua. I mean really!
