It's Like Butter

Duck Sauce - Barbra Streisand (Original)

Awe Lawdy! Duck Sauce is back with another fun dance floor smack down. Disco in nature with an electro sensibility, this tracks simple verbal chant of Babs will have the queeny queens working. Really fun track.

And if doesn't, this delicious photo of Jake G surely will. I don't know if I have ever wanted to see a movie so badly.

CALIENTE

Eddie Amador & Corey Andrew - Dancefloor Emergency

Well listen to me. Ain't but two things come outta house music. That's steers and that's queers. And honey, I don't see no horns! Walk Work Live Eat Sleep Work to the Beat. Amador nails it in two awesome versions, one tribal and one classic disco house. This is a code red, get it while it's hot and you can, fantastic house music track. Dare I say it rivals his... Oh no I couldn't possibly or could I?

Departure From Dance

Have you ever been at friends house and have them put on a record and in an instant you are like "What Is This?" I love finding little gems like this. That having been said, I'm roughly 20 years late discovering this gem in a sea of musical mediocrity.

If you have not already been acquainted, let me be the first to introduce you to STEREO TOTAL. A French German duo that has been churning out Atmospheric Punk Disco since the early nineties. This is some quirky super awesome stuff and I highly recommend it.

Below find a link to their 2007 recording Paris-Berlin. Don't be fooled there are many other records out there by this dynamic duo and a new one on the way. In addition is a youtube clip of their cover of "Drive My Car"

I Found Romance

Erich Ensastigue - Boogie Wonderland

This disco classic gets a tribal pounding by Erich. One might call it a quicky at 5:46, but when it's good, a quicky is better than a bad long session any day!

Facebook Files

Armand Van Helden & A-Track Present Duck Sauce - Grand Steppin' (Original Mix)

So this little gem came to my attention via facebook and a nightlife icon here in Austin TX, Our Lady of the Golden Turn Table... Miss H aka Michael Hernandez. Armand & A-Track give us classic disco and house sounds in a over saturated tech and "Ibiza" market, so it sounds almost new. I'll go step further and coin a new term. Lets call it Roots House. It's fun with great energy and most of all it's straight up sounds happy. Miss H's quote was "I can see all the old school kids voguing to this".

Return to Funk

Francesco Diaz - Say a Little Prayer (Raul Rincon Peaktime)

Lets just say I'm feeling the funk this AM. Here is great male vocal remake of Miss Franklin. Rincon slams it down with the funky soulful house version. Superb vocal edits!

Save The Day

Coco Star - I Need A Miracle 2009 (6th Street Players Mix)

Originally released back in 1997 on Positiva this is one of those vocal tracks that just never gets old. Looking at my original copy I see that I paid an astounding $11.99 for it. (Thank God for the Internet) The 6th Street Players give it a nice funky house 2009 update.

Waiting So Long

Skingz - Just For Your Love

House, Disco, Rhythm, blues, and Jazz with an emphasis on BOOM. A very simple track in terms of the 4 on the floor, yet wonderfully effective. Crazy sax edits, filtered organ and heavy beat drops.

* I found it difficult to download and had to let the whole file load, save as source, and add the .mp3
